During this course we shall examine a number of books which are either prime examples a particular genre or an originator of it thereby opening up ideas of genre and popular fiction. It would be helpful if you could read the books before we start the course. But don’t worry if you can’t because the hand-out will contain significant passages which we will discuss. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss your favourite genre books!
